Always remember: Nobody is perfect! In other words, make sure not to be so hard on yourself. Placing excessive demands on yourself can easily lead to feelings of being overwhelmed. Many anxiety disorders are treated with cognitive behavioural treatment. This therapy focuses on attitudes, thoughts, evaluations, and convictions. How we think determines how we feel, behave, and physically react. Therefore, cognitive behavioural treatment aims to increase the awareness of thoughts; to review these thoughts (were they appropriate?); to correct irrational attitudes; and to transfer the adjusted attitudes into actual behaviour. The therapy’s ultimate goal is to actively change perceptions in order to influence behaviour.
