PASCOFLAIR® : Your Solution

How quickly should I expect results?

Research shows that passionflower can act within 30 minutes for stressful situations, and within a few days for more long-term symptoms.

Can I use passionflower during pregnancy?

While there are no known contraindications, you should always consult your healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Will passionflower make me drowsy?

Passionflower does not act as a sedative: in the brain, it regulates neurotransmitters associated with calming rather than sleep. However, some people - especially those who have been having poor sleep - may find that the calming effects feel like drowsiness. Studies show however that passionflower is much less likely to provide any sedating effects compared with pharmaceutical medications.

Do I need a high dose of passionflower for effectiveness?

Yes, high doses of passionflower are what have been studied in the literature for the best effect. Tinctures may not be able to provide therapeutic doses.

Is passionflower approved in other countries?

Yes. Passionflower is very widely used. For example, Germany's Commission E approved the use of passionflower for nervous restlessness. The British Herbal Compendium indicates passionflower for sleep disorders, nervous stress and anxiety. In Canada, it is approved for cases of restlessness or insomnia due to mental stress.
