Fear of Flying

Cold and moist hands, episodes of perspiration, loss of appetite, shaking, and a frog in the throat – this is how those who suffer from a fear of flying feel. Almost 70 percent of patients encounter these symptoms for the first time during a completely normally progressing flight. Only one in five sufferers experienced turbulence or another upsetting flying incidents. Almost 10 percent of all who were affected had never flown before, indicating a fear of the unknown.
